Santos Skeleton watch, large model, Manufacture mechanical movement with manual winding, calibre 9619 MC. 18K rose gold case, 18K rose gold 7-sided crown set with a faceted sapphire, gold sword-shaped hands, sapphire crystal and case back. 18K rose gold bracelet with “SmartLink” adjustment system. Second strap in alligator skin, with interchangeable 18K rose gold folding buckle. Both are fitted with the “QuickSwitch” interchangeable system. Hours and minutes with skeletonised bridges forming Roman numerals. Individually numbered movement containing 138 parts including 20 jewels. Movement dimensions: 28 mm x 28 mm, movement thickness: 3.97 mm, balance: 28,800 vibrations/hour, power reserve approx. 72 hours. Case width: 39.8 mm, case thickness: 9.08 mm. Water-resistant to 10 bar (approx. 100 metres).
ABOUT THE COLLECTION
1904. Louis Cartier granted the wish of the famous Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos Dumont: to be able to tell the time while flying. The birth of one of the first ever wristwatches sealed the bonds of friendship between these two pioneers. The rounded angles of the dial, seamless curve of the horns, and the exposed screws made for an iconic watch that would inspire countless reinterpretations.
